The dictionary definition for resilience is as follows:
- The ability of people or things to feel better quickly after something unpleasant, such as shock, injury, etc.
- The ability of a substance to return to its original shape after it has been bent, stretched, or pressed
The second definition speaks to me of embodied resilience. How stress and trauma physically change our shape over time but how, through tender awareness and some effective tools we can shift back to our original shape. Or as the Japanese art of Kintsugi shows us…becoming even more beautiful once repaired.
This isn’t the course I was going to run at this point but it is one I feel is needed. It draws upon my own trainings, that I have been taught by others and delivers some practical tools - held in a tender environment.
Absolutely no toxic wellness or positivity included (If you have followed me for a while I think you know me well enough by now but sometimes the word resilience can conjure up funny images - so just to be clear)!
Week 1 - What hinders our resilience? Types or resilience and some everyday resourcing tools.
Week 2 - The body as resource. Body based resilience tools.
Week 3 - Nature as our guide. Using nature as our compass and guide.
Week 4 - Resilience in relation to others.
Week 5 - Resource in Ritual.
Sessions will run each Tuesday 7pm UK time and will be for 1.5 hours.
Sessions will be recorded for those that miss sessions.
There will also be a Facebook Group for support as well as handouts for some of the exercises.
Please note this course is offered at a much lower rate than normal to enable this to be then shared with others. Personal sharing at the start of each session will not be recorded.
